Drivers from the Sunoco American Late Model Series will be at the Mt. Pleasant Speedway, 4658 E. River Rd., on Friday, May 24.
Among the ALMS drivers expected are No. M14 Brandon Thirlby, who is currently leading in national points, No. 55 Jeep Van Wormer, and 2012 ALMS Champion No. 49 Brian Ruhlman.
Friday also brings a full show of racing in Chuck’s Discount Foods UMP Modifieds, Brad Penn Performance Racing Oil Street Stocks, Mt. Pleasant/Clare Automotive Stock 4’s and Mac Tools Bombers. Taco Boy will be sponsoring a Stock 4 special and it will be $750 to win for UMP Modifieds courtesy of Team Y4.
Leading Mt. Pleasant Speedway in points for the Stock 4’s is #84 Richard Lieb with 43 points over #01 Chris Stahl with 42 and #D7 Tasha Decker with 38.
For the UMP Late Models it’s #27 Eric Spangler with 42 points over #M14 Brandon Thirlby with 41 followed by #6M Dona Marcoullier and #23 Ryan Vanderveen both with 39.
Leading the Street Stocks is #93 Willis McKenzie with 40 points over #32 Tom Hodges Jr. with 39 and #44 Josh Fry with 37.
For the UMP Modifieds it’s #43 Kevin Miller with 41 points over #2S Travis Stemler and #2K Aaron Morey both with 40 followed by #87 David Mielke with 39.
Gates open at 5 pm and racing starts at 7:45.
